Sheikh Al-Thani´s group has taken a step towards reactivating the project of the new marina in Marbella (expansion of the actual La Bajadilla Port).
Now they have meet some of the requirements demanded by the regional goverment (Junta de Andalucia) and paid 1,8 million Euros to La Agencia Pública de Puertos de Andalucía (APPA), outstanding ammount for the 2012 and 2013 concession canon that were pending.
Recently they meet another condition demanded by La Junta de Andalucía and the company which is to hold the concession for the management and the enlargement of the port was constituted according to the terms demanded by the APPA. They will now need to provide to APPA the inscription in the commercial register of the concessionary company and the admission of the company´s share capital increase up to 21,2 million Euros, of which 5,3 were disbursed.
With these steps taken by Sheik Al-Thani´s group the concession cancelation process could be canceled definitively, but this decision should be taken by La Junta de Andalucía.
Now it seems that Sheikh Al-Thani wants to modify some parts of the original project to ensure it´s profitability.
